The Gossip Train – Faster Than an Ambulance
💬 “Did you hear what happened on third shift?”
💬 “I heard she got written up AGAIN.”
💬 “Girl, I saw them in the breakroom TOGETHER… 👀”
One thing about nursing homes? Gossip is the real infection control issue. It doesn’t matter if it’s true, half-true, or completely made up—if somebody whispers it, it’s circulating in under five minutes.
✔️ CNAs gossip about nurses.
✔️ Nurses gossip about CNAs.
✔️ Admin gossips about everyone.
✔️ Even the RESIDENTS get in on it.
By lunch break, everybody knows your business—sometimes before YOU do.
The Nursing Home Cliques – Pick Your Team
If you thought cliques ended after high school, SURPRISE! Nursing homes got their own little social groups, and if you ain’t careful, you’ll get drafted into one.
✔️ The Lazy CNAs – Always missing when work needs to be done but somehow always on their phone.
✔️ The Workaholic CNAs – Judging everybody who sits down for more than two seconds.
✔️ The “I’m Only Here for a Check” Crew – Do the bare minimum, never stress, never volunteer for ANYTHING.
✔️ The Mean Girls Nurses – Too bougie to answer a call light, too busy gossiping to do meds on time.
✔️ The “Cool” Supervisor – Pretends to be your friend but will write you up with a smile.
✔️ The Resident Favorites – The CNAs who get all the love, gifts, and extra snacks from residents.
✔️ The Ones Who Stir the Pot – They live for drama and will create it if things get too quiet.
And let’s not forget the management team, who always has a “family” vibe until you call out.

The Never-Ending Beef – Because Somebody’s Always Mad
Workplace beef in nursing homes is petty and everlasting.
🚨 Somebody stole somebody’s resident.
🚨 Somebody left a dirty brief in the trash and didn’t take it out.
🚨 Somebody took too long in the breakroom.
🚨 Somebody clocked in ONE minute late and got reported.
🚨 Somebody “said something” to a nurse and now it’s a WHOLE issue.
CNAs and nurses hold grudges like their life depends on it. And even if you’re minding your business, you WILL be dragged into it eventually.
The worst part? Half the time, nobody even REMEMBERS why they’re mad.

The Drama Queens – Making a Scene Over NOTHING
You know who they are. The ones who:
💥 Argue in the hallway like it’s a TV show.
💥 Make EVERYTHING personal.
💥 Threaten to quit at least once a week.
💥 Act like every shift is a battlefield.
Management knows who these people are, but do they do anything? Nope! They just watch the circus and take notes for later.
When Residents Join the Drama – The Ultimate Plot Twist
👵 “Did you hear what the night shift said about you?”
🧓 “I saw her whispering to the DON yesterday… I think she was talking about you.”
👴 “Baby, I BEEN knew y’all don’t like each other!”
Residents love the drama just as much as staff do. Some of them cause it ON PURPOSE just to keep things interesting.
And when state shows up? Residents suddenly FORGET everything and start acting like they’ve never seen drama in their life.

Conclusion: Just Do Your Job and Stay Out of It… If You Can
If you’re lucky, you can dodge the drama. But let’s be real:
📌 If you work in a nursing home, you WILL get dragged into some mess.
📌 If you try to ignore it, somebody will make it your business.
📌 The best thing to do? Stay professional, sip your coffee, and let the drama unfold like a reality show.
Because at the end of the day… the nursing home might be full of drama, but we all show up for that check.
